Who is Honesdale High School Interact?

Interact, the junior version of Rotary, was born in 2009 at Honesdale High School. Since then, these  young Rotarians have managed to raise more than $20,000 over the years to support programs they are passionate about.  They adopted elementary school students in Honesdale through the Kids Care program. Providing a big brother big sister type environment, the Interact students meet their ‘little buddies’ monthly and share Christmas and end of year gifts for them to take home.   Along with their local projects, they also have International projects as well, like contributing to Rotary’s Polio Eradication Initiative through their  Purple Pinky Campaign.

“These students have contributed to Pennies for Peace in Afghanistan, as well as supported libraries through the Himalayan Institute’s Humanitarian program in Cameroon, West Africa,” said Brian Fulp, one of the volunteer sponsors for the group. “They are a powerful, networked group of students and the future leaders of this community- and I have to say, we will be in good hands.”
